Your Journey awaits
TravelingSista.com is a space created for the children of the African Diaspora (man, woman, blossoming and mature) where you can come and get a glimpse of the topics that are important to the Black community who are looking to broaden their travels or even relocate to another country. Although most of the information provided is specific to Tanzania, but a lot of the principles and foundations can be applied to any African country. Here, you can get reliable and specific information on visiting or moving to Tanzania as well as pertinent links to needed information. I’ve also included a General Info tab on this site to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about transitioning. The blog tab is also an insightful tool to get a more candid view of parts of my journey.

For the diaspora
TravelingSista.com is geared towards helping African diasporans to have ease with their transition to the African continent, weather visiting for the first time or relocating.
Why the Diaspora?
Throughout history, African descendants have been systemically given the short end of the stick when it comes to resources, opportunity, or improvement of many kinds. In short, we have been very limited. Here at TravelingSista.com, I wanted to create something that was specifically made for us, without having to cater to any other group of people, as we have had to do for so long.
About Me
MY NAME IS Kathryn
I was born in San Diego, CA and raised in in Newport News, VA. I’m a veteran who served 6 years in the US Navy as an engineer and an electrician. I’ve traveled to over 20+ countries and I settled in Tanzania in December of 2016. I met my amazing husband, had a baby girl, and got married all within the following 3 years.
Since moving to Tanzania I began diving deeper into my spiritual and physical journey as a Black woman and an African descendant. I truly believe that I was led here, to the country of Tanzania, for many purposes, with the main one being to help serve as a guide to other African descendants looking to come visit or even relocate fully, just as I did.
